David Houle is one of the Co-Founders and Managing Director of the Institute. David Houle is a futurist, thinker and speaker. Houle spent more than 20 years in media and entertainment. He has worked at NBC, CBS and was part of the senior executive team that created and launched MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and CNN Headline News.

Each Saturday event is a full day in the magnificent Neel Performing Arts Center on the beautiful campus of the State College of Florida.  The first four symposiums face four of the ten major categories The Sarasota Institute has across the top of our web site:


On January 18 we have our symposium on the future of education in the 21st Century, entitled “Being an Educated Person in 2035”


On February 29 we have our symposium about climate change, entitled “A Leap Year Look at Climate Change”


On March 7 we take a look at the directions of healthcare and medicine in the 21st Century with a symposium called:  “The New Health Age of the 21st Century”


Our last currently scheduled symposium is on April 25, entitled “The Future of Capitalism and Democracy”

Note: for those of you that do not live on the Gulf Coast of Florida, we will be live streaming the four symposiums, so please take note of the specific days and times of the symposiums and put on your calendar.  Details in January on how those outside the larger Sarasota-Bradenton can access the live streaming.
